For Dry Hair...
One major reason for dry
hair is the lack of essential fatty acids (E.F.A.'s).
They are naturally supplied to the scalp and then to the
hair by the sebeous gland. Natural sebum is lost through
heat, chemical interaction, alkaline hair care products,
and a host of other reasons. To correct the concern of
dry hair:
- Replace lost
E.F.A.'s, which act as humectants (compounds that
attract and retain moisture. This is easily done by
use of your choice of many great salon moisturizers.
- Replace E.F.A.'s
directly with products rich in lipids.
- Try blow-drying on
the "cool" setting. Stop blow-drying before the hair
is completely dry.

- Use only products
on your hair with pH's lower than 7.0
- Thermal protectors
are great to use if you apply heat to your hair.
- Do not brush wet
or damp hair.
- Ask your stylist
for a home maintains system to combat dry hair.
Styling With Hot
Rollers When using hot rollers spray dry hair first with
a "working" hairspray. Take your first section and comb
it smooth, spray with hairspray and then twist the
section before wrapping on the roller. This will give a
spiral look to your curls. After rollers have cooled
take out rollers and spray with a "working" hairspray.
Finally turn head upside down and run your fingers
through your hair.
If you use
curling irons...
On clean towel dried hair:
Apply a product designed to create volume. Apply it at
the roots of your hair and comb through to the ends (you
want more product at toward the scalp than at the ends-
this makes the hair "lift") Let hair cool before
brushing out. After the hair is completely dry and your
style is set, use a stronger holding hair spray to keep
the hair in place.
If you use rollers (cold or hot)...

spray (do not use a strong one) When hair is dry, brush
out, and finish with a stronger finishing spray.
